Animal abuse isn’t in everyone’s back yard. It is far away and doesn’t affect the average person. People don’t think twice about animal abuse because it is in no way affecting their lives. Most people won’t even make a trip to Sea World so they don’t think twice abut the abuse. Because these places are so far from the majority of the population we don’t tend to care. Most people’s biggest concern is not animal abuse, let alone their top ten. Even the employees at SeaWorld do not tend to care.

The animal abuse has at SeaWorld has been a problem since the park opened in 1959. The trainers at SeaWorld have been treating the animals poorly without even knowing. SeaWorld has been in the news ever since 40-year-old trainer died in 2010 by the orca Tilikum by biting her ponytail and pulling her into the water. Every week more and more information comes out about the animals being mistreated. Every year more and more orcas die from being in captivity. You can see physical changes in the orcas by the males floppy coral fins, the drilled insides of their teeth, and the male whales impregnating the female orcas by force.
